Pepperonis, we MAY have created some new fan-favorites this month at Pepp’s Pizzeria in Urbandale.
Jasmine Oseguera, better known as Miss O, is this month’s After the Bell guest teacher. She’s a fifth-grade teacher at Waukee Elementary, and she came ready to grade these pizzas like a pro.
Here’s how the May lineup stacked up:
A festive pie bringing bold flavors together with a cilantro lime drizzle, fire roasted corn, and a crunchy finish from tortilla strips—all on our signature 24-hour cold fermented crust.
“I really like the sauce… it’s a really good sauce. And I like the crunch from the tortilla strips. Flavors are working really well together.”
Miss O is a “saucy girl,” but even wanting a little extra didn’t stop her from enjoying this one.
Think buffalo chicken wrap, but on a pizza. Breaded chicken, balanced buffalo ranch sauce, and just the right amount of kick.
“That is really good. The buffalo sauce is not super spicy, which I love. This is very good for me… definitely my vibe.”
This one came in hot (but not too hot) and delivered big on flavor.
Sweet meets heat with pineapple, jalapeño, and a mango habanero aioli drizzle.
“The pineapple balances the spice, which is very good. I love pineapple on pizza… but if you don’t love spice, this might not be your favorite.”
A great option for those who like a little bit of both in every bite.
Midwest sushi who?? We all know someone who makes a great pickle roll… and now you know someone who makes a great pickle roll PIZZA!
“Tastes just like a pickle roll-up. The pickle has a really good crunch, and the cream cheese makes it super delicious.”
This one is a nostalgic favorite that hits close to home.
This was a tough one, but Miss O gave her top spot to the Buffalo Bang! “I think my gold star might go to the Buffalo Bang… it was really banging.”
