Welcome to Pepp's Pizzeria

Pepp’s Pizzeria was founded to honor “Pepp,” a pizza aficionada and “home chef hobbyist” whose love for the sacred cheese pull and perfectly cooked crust took him to the streets of Florence, Italy and all around New York. After indulging in hundreds of slices from the best in the business, Pepp took it upon himself to craft the perfect pie in his home-kitchen right here in Des Moines. And after years of testing and obsessing over creating the best za’ recipe, he created something truly special which he calls "The upside down pizza with a Pepp flair."

After sharing with those closest to him, Pepp’s pizzas quickly became the reason for weekly gatherings with family and friends. No one could wait for the next opportunity to attend a pizza night at Pepp’s. Pizza might have been the reason for bringing them together, but the gatherings became bigger than the food being served. It quickly became about the memories created, time with loved ones was enjoyed, and the amazing home feel Pepp offered where people could truly be themselves.

Our commitment is simple: to serve our version of the perfect slice and offer you a reason to get the same enjoyment out of the pizza the way everyone who enjoyed Pepp’s did, and still does today. Our hope is that our food can lead to enjoyment of amazing times with family and friends, where great conversations are had and memories are made over delicious pizza.

Made with love (and cheese) every time

We serve 200 full pizzas a day — when we're out, we're out. Why? We put a whole lot of love into every pizza we serve, and because we are a small space, we only want to provide each and every customer the best pizza possible! By only hand-making 10 pizzas every 15 minutes, these time slots allow us to not rush through any steps, and really focus on providing a high-quality pie every single time.

Too often kitchen staff gets overwhelmed, and instead of focusing on the quality and consistency of the product, they worry about getting the food out as fast as possible. That’s not our goal at Pepp's. We want to provide an environment where our staff can thrive, and you can count on getting the best pizza every time you order.
